Kids are getting ready to return to school, the sun is setting earlier and earlier each day, and while it feels like summer is about to hand over to autumn, many are looking for a little interior inspiration for adding a bit of flare to their home before the cold sets in. In today’s blog we’ll be showcasing some of our favourite social media images from August that demonstrate the power of neutral decor!

Our favourite social posts from August

Through the last four weeks we’ve once again seen a beautiful array of fashionable home images shared with us on Instagram. Amongst a diverse range of styles, we noticed several of the most striking images used chic yet cosy neutral colours. With autumn not far away, these styles are ideal for keeping a space bright yet homely year round!

A cosy bedroom

Our first beautiful image from August comes from maria.manorfields. While dominated by neutral colours, the use of tone in this room makes it the ideal location for relaxation.

These tones vary from chic, bright white on the sloped ceiling, bedding and panelling set against a lovely, taupe colour painted onto the walls. Tying it all together is the use of natural materials and plants ranging from pale wooden drawers by the bed, to the gorgeous plant flanking the window.

Completing the look is a cosy, Pure Recycled Natural Linen Roman blind. Roman blinds are the ideal choice for fashionable bedrooms, especially since you can add a free thermal or blackout lining to best suit your needs.

Moreover, since it’s made from recycled materials, this striking Roman blind is also good for the environment. For more information about sustainable home decor, read our Sustainable Design Choices blog

When combined, the colours, textures and styling of this space creates a warm, rustic finish that offers timeless beauty and elegance. It’s a 10/10 from us!

A refreshing living room

Next is this remarkably stylish living room by home_with_fern. Featuring a bright colour palette with clean lines throughout, this space is very beautiful.

The foundation of the room is the lovely neutral tone on the wall and the very similarly coloured chair adjacent to the window. This lovely colour lets other shades, such as the bright wooden furniture and the legs of the armchair really pop. This adds a delicate natural finish to the space.

Gently adding colour and form to the walls is a great piece of artwork that helps unify the room while adding an interesting focal point.

Elevating the space in a thematic and stylish way is the wooden Venetian blind with tapes fitting inside the window. This is the ideal choice because a quality Venetian blind will let in the light this room needs to shine while still offering privacy.

What’s more, this well chosen blind contributes to the angular design elements making the room even more chic.

A calming workspace

Last but not least is this serene workspace by sweethouseliving. When making a workspace, it’s very important to curate a space that’s calming and conducive to work. We believe this room is a perfect example of what a home office should be.

Firstly, the space is effortlessly chic with the pale neutral shades creating a space that’s not overstimulating and is instead soothing. The pale walls, the lovely wooden floor and the slightly warmer tone on the panelling all work together perfectly.

Moreover, the designer hasn’t abandoned the use of pattern, it’s instead been used in a way that’s fantastic. Patterns can be found on the cushion, on the delightful mirror frame and on the beautiful Roman blind.

As with the bedroom, Roman blinds are an excellent option for home offices as they are not only functional, but they emit a cosiness that makes you feel safe and comfortable. This truly is a brilliant home office!
