What Are Our Different Types Of Shutter?

What Are Our Different Types Of Shutter?

The materials we use to craft our shutters fall into two categories. They are:

Real Wood - Enjoy a warm and pleasant effect. While the material is relatively lightweight, wooden shutters are hardwearing and guaranteed to last for a long time. With such benefits available, we recommend our real wood shutters for bedrooms, dining spaces and living rooms alike. All the wood used in the crafting of our shutters is sourced solely from sustainably managed forests.

uPVC Faux Wood - The perfect choice for higher-moisture spaces, including bathrooms and kitchens, they are also resistant to cracking and warping which can happen to wood when wet. Crafted from sturdy uPVC, these shutters can easily stand daily wear and tear plus splashes, spills and condensation.

We Also Offer Three Types Of Shutters Which Can Be Selected

Full Height

Cafe-Style
Cafe-Style
Cafe-style shutters cover the bottom half of your windows, allowing the top section to remain bare, letting sunlight in whilst maintaining privacy.
Tier-on-Tier
Tier-on-Tier
Tier-on-tier shutters provide a happy medium between full height and cafe-style, allowing the top and bottom shutters to function independently for your desired level of privacy and sunlight.

How To Measure For Shutters

How To Measure For Shutters

Measuring a window for a new shutter is simple to do and could take you less than five minutes.

Firstly, there are two styles of frame you can pick from. They are:

L frame shutters come in two types - inside and outside window mountings. Both of these frames resemble an “L”, sitting either inside the window recess at any depth, or outside the window recess if necessary. If you are unsure which frame is best for you, simply contact our team for tips and advice.

Z frame shutters are used exclusively for inside mounting. As the name indicates, the frame resembles a Z, and part of this shape sits inside the window. The other part affixes around the window, creating a lip which ensures a flush frame without any gaps. The Z frame can be installed with both an architrave and windowsill.

Our Most Popular Shutters

Our Most Popular Shutters

Shutters add a charming rustic feel to a space so its unsurprising that our most popular products tend to be in softer, natural colours:

Oak shutters - are an absolute classic. They celebrate the beauty of nature while emphasising and enriching a great range of neutral colours. They also work well with richer colours including dark blues, greens and even orange.

White shutters - come in a range of tones each of which will add a chic statement to your home. Perfect in traditional and contemporary decors alike, a white shutter won't let you down.

Dark shutters - include colours such as walnut, chestnut and charcoal. Each of these colours offers a great range of design opportunities and will contrast well with many colours you may already enjoy in your home.
